2015 Monroe Vineyard Pinot Noir
Monroe Vineyard is a small, backyard vineyard just south of the town of Sebastopol in Sonoma. It sits just beyond the northern edge of the Petaluma Wind Gap, so it is blanketed in the morning and late afternoon with cool fog from the Sonoma Coast. This is the same vineyard where we get our Chardonnay, and one tiny corner is planted to Pinot Noir. We originally planned to include this in our Rose. However, when we tasted the tiny, blueberry sized grapes and the small, dark clusters, we knew this had to be its own single vineyard wine.
Our 2015 Monroe Vineyard Pinot is sumptuous and fruit forward. Its bouquet displays notes of black tea, black currents, and blackberry. On the palate you'll find a lovely round mouth feel, with perfectly balanced tannins, bright acidity and beautiful flavors of cherries, blueberries, and licorice. The Monroe Vineyard Pinot finishes with dark fruit flavors and a hint of baking spice. We are offering the 2015 Monroe Vineyard Pinot at $36. Only 22 cases produced.
